Delta, a brand distributed by Steliau Technology, presents the new MEP-500A, a high-performance 500W model that expands its renowned series of MEP medical power supplies in open frame format.
Designed specifically for medical applications with space constraints—such as in vitro diagnostic (IVD) equipment, surgical beds, endoscopes, ultrasound scanners, and ventilators—the MEP-500A combines maximum efficiency and small size to optimise system performance and integration.
With outstanding power density of up to 25.64 W/in³ and efficiency of up to 95%, it offers a compact solution in a format of only 3‘ x 5’, reducing installation space. Its design ensures flexibility and reliability, with output options of 12 V, 18 V, 24 V and 48 V, and stable operation over a wide temperature range from -30 °C to +85 °C. In addition, it has a 5V/2A standby output, contributing to greater energy efficiency and reduced operating costs.
The MEP-500A offers 500W with fan cooling and 300W with natural convection, maintaining quiet and reliable operation. It incorporates advanced features such as remote sensing to compensate for voltage drops in the cabling and remote on/off for easier management and diagnostics.
In terms of safety, it includes 2 x MOPP insulation, in accordance with the strict requirements for BF-type medical equipment, ensuring the protection of both patients and operators. It complies with IEC/EN/UL certifications for medical, IT and domestic use, and with EN 55032 Class B, which reduces electromagnetic interference and ensures reliable operation even in sensitive medical environments.
